The Agriculture Network (AgriNet)

In a joint cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, eFinance has designed, developed, and is now operating and managing a digital agricultural network (AgriNet) that’s transforming Egypt’s agriculture sector.

Since 2016, AgriNet has been rolled out across all 27 of Egypt’s governorates, connecting millions of farmers across the country to essential digital services.

It began with the creation of a central database that records each farmer’s land possession for a total of 5.6 million agricultural holdings, identifying their crops and needs and linking them to over 5700 digitized agricultural cooperatives across Egypt.  With this, the Ministry now has a clear picture of Egypt’s agricultural landscape, enabling smarter planning and resource allocation.

To make these resources accessible, our sister company “eNovate” introduced the Meeza Farmer’s Card—a tool that empowers farmers to receive subsidized fertilizers and other essential inputs. Over 7 million farmers now rely on this card, ensuring fair and transparent distribution of vital supplies. The card is also a digital payment tool that streamlines transactions. With a simple swipe, farmers can pay for fertilizers and supplies, saving time and ensuring their fields get the resources they need.

eFinance is also responsible for managing and governing the trade of fertilizer, automating the entire supply chain from factories to cooperatives across Egypt. Now, every bag of fertilizer can be tracked in real-time, ensuring that over 50 million bags reach their destinations annually.

Today, AgriNet connects over millions of farmers, providing them with the tools, resources, and data they need to grow stronger, more sustainable farms. Through this groundbreaking partnership, eFinance and the Ministry of Agriculture are securing a resilient future for Egypt’s agriculture sector, empowering farmers and strengthening the backbone of Egypt’s economy.
